a hand in The Hague

I won an award last week – most unexpected! It caught me by surprise and left me speechless, all I could say was Thank you. A simple word but one which I have trouble saying for doing something I (a) love; (b) do not consider work and (c) which I find so rewarding.

I won the Womens Business Initiative Entrepreneurial Award for Networker of the Year. To have won it from my peers, friends, colleagues and associates was indeed the most gratifying part of it – and yet being recognised for something that is ‘part of me’ feels uncomfortable …. that is my problem of course, the unease. Fact remains I will continue doing what I love, and now I know from others that I apparently do it well, and it is of benefit to others. THAT is gratifying, and for that I am leaning to say, ‘thank you’ … and am developing a business idea based on it. More to follow on this development …

It was not a big task – but what a great result. CONNECTing Women, a local network for professional women in The Hague hosted a Festive Network Bazaar in early December – more than 35 entrepreneurial women, Dutch and many other nationalities, gathered to share their passions, their ideas and to meet new people. The buzz was electric, the result most satisfying. Organising the final details while planning a move was not stressless, but thanx to everyone’s cooperation and contribution I can look back and say it was worth it. I was energized by the enthusiasm of others and by the buzz at the event. For those who have not yet attended a CW event – mark the first Monday of every month in your calendar for a network evening which will enlighten, inform and entertain you!

One day, one decision. To attend the ‘blogging for business’ workshop which was part of the Womens Business Initiative Global Entreprenuership Programme … and her I am blogging.

It is a credit to my fellow participants, not to mention the leadership & guidance of Lisa and Suzy that I am here…. and I will make them proud by giving them yet another blog to read!

As I fiddle with the possibilities, and find my voice I look forward to sharing who I am and what I enjoy doing – professionally and well, as an entreprenuer … which I am discovering, I seem to be.
